FuhQuake is a project to hack "stunning visual effects and eyecandy" into the open-source Quake engine. Does this mean that everyone who's made Quake machinima can now re-render their movies and get Moore's-Law improvements in the quality of their SFX?

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic).
