The photo inside The Smiths' The Queen is Dead album depicts the boys in front of the Salford Lads Club in Manchester, England. Ever since the record was released in 1986, the building has become a mecca for Smiths fans–a notoriously, er, dedicated bunch. At first, the Club was less than thrilled at being associated with the kinds of characters who would sing about "stealing lead from a church roof."
