Siyathemba design project finalists

Earlier this year in Wired News, I wrote about a design competition to build a a football field and healthcare facility for youth in Somkhele, South Africa. The non-profit group behind the competition, Architecture for Humanity, just announced nine finalists and sixteen honorable mentions. "Siyathemba" is the Zulu word for hope, and the facility will serve as an AIDS education and care site, an an impoverished area which has been extremely hard-hit by the pandemic.
