NYT publishes anonymous remarks slamming anonymity

My cow-orker Wendy Seltzer reports on a NYT story that credulously quotes a parade of coppers complaining that open WiFi is a tool for criminals to make anonymous mischief, while totally missing the irony that the cops they spoke to would only communicate on condition of anonymity. Two federal law enforcement officials said on condition of anonymity that while they were not aware of specific cases, they believed that sophisticated terrorists might also be starting to exploit unsecured Wi-Fi connections.
