OpenDemocracy republishing under a CC license

Becky sez, "Today openDemocracy stepped its toe into the Creative Commons. Over the past month, together with Solana Larsen in our New York office, I've been emailing over three hundred of our authors – people who've written for us from all over the world – to ask them to grant us permission to make this move. Over one hundred of them replied with a resounding yes – the vast majority of them had already heard of the scheme and were more than happy to see their work reach a wider audience.

"openDemocracy's been going since 2001 – in that time we've published over 2,000 articles from Tashkent to Toronto, Gaza to Gothenburg, trying to spread our moniker "free thinking for the world". From now on, we'll be asking all our authors to release their work Creative Commons so we can continue to be truly open and democratic."
