In this video, legendary stage hypnotist Derren Brown drops a guy who's playing a shoot-em-up game at a pub into a trance, then carries him into an elaborate set made up to resemble the game, puts a gun in his hand, and wakes him up. I have no idea if this is a hoax or for real, but the footage of this guy running around inside the game he'd been playing a minute before is amazing. 15.6 WMV Link (via Wonderland)

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.
