Brian Jungen's sculptures from everyday objects

Nikemask

BB pal Kirsten Anderson of Seattle's Roq La Rue gallery points us to the excellent work of Brian Jungen, a Vancouver artist who transforms everyday objects into very different forms. Seen here, Nike shoes and human hair reborn in the form of a Northwest Coast Indian mask. The piece is titled "Prototype for New Understanding #16 (2004). In another work, he assembled a multitude of the ubiquitous white plastic chairs into a whale skeleton.
