Reducing piracy will not increase their earnings. The majority of people who download illegal content cannot afford original CDs and DVDs.

Ha, I pirate all day long, and I'm proud.

They can't stop us, Stop wasting your money and give it to charity, Instead of cutting off your own nose to spite your face.

They harassed me for downloading a movie... threatened a bunch of legal shtuff. Little do they know, I watched that movie, Liked it, then bought it. Perhaps they have a problem with people Like me that must know if something is worth buying before shelling out the clams to buy it. Heres a peice of advise.

Make better movies instead of spending the time and money fighting the movie watchers.

@Anon: "Make better movies instead of spending the time and money fighting the movie watchers."

I agree for the most part. Clearly there is a disconnect between what the MAFIAA claims to be offering and the actual result. A lot of people turn to piracy because Hollywood itself is a scam far worse than any piracy claims they may have against the consumer. They advertise movies like they're the second coming of Christ when it turns out if you pay for the thing, you get the some old crap they've been showing for decades; banal, 2-hour advertisements for the status quo, constructed by committee and filled with disingenuous laffs.

Why should people have to pay to see the same script recycled endlessly with new actors and sets when they've already paid for that story a hundred times -- and the trailers try to disguise it as something new and exciting? I want to invest in innovation, cleverness and idealism -- which Hollywood as a whole (and most of the so-called independent movie world) is apparently out of except in the occasional rare comedy movie that slips by a satirical message because it's also filled with Hollywood's quota of sex jokes, cartoonishly smooth faces and people being unphased by enormous explosions close to their person.

One day they will realize that the instantaneous popularity of a story is the biggest sign that it is a pile of forgettable trash.
