I ran into my friend Paul Donald here at TED. We worked together at Wired 12 years ago. Paul was a designer at Wired (he previously worked at Spy) and was art director at Sunset magazine for a while before starting an online store called Branch, which features beautifully-designed stuff made from recycled materials.

Paul has set up a room full of wonderful Branch stuff at TED. My favorite products are from a line designed by JoshJakus of Oakland, California. They're made of recycled "industrial wool" (ground up clothing) and they fold up in topologically delightful ways. The item in the top two photos is made from a flat S-shape of material and zips up into a little pocket purse. The photo on the bottom can be used to hold fruit or other small objects, and folds up flat, as you can see in this video: Link
