My brother Mark Pescovitz took this photo of water trickling down across a rock. The color comes from the salt deposited by the water over many years. The total area shown is approximately two feet by three feet. (Click the image to see it larger.) It's one of nine great pieces that are finalists in the 2007 Pop Goes The West Art Contest sponsored by the Indianapolis Star's INTake magazine and the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art.
David Pescovitz is Boing Boing's co-editor/managing partner. He's also a research director at Institute for the Future. On Instagram, he's @pesco.
