 1310 541736855 Bf88F8B188 A new eastern span of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge is now under construction. The 80-year-old span that's being replaced may be familiar to people living outside the Bay Area because it appeared all over the news in 1989 when it partially collapsed during the big earthquake.
