Peach wasps devouring their namesake fruit

A couple of weeks ago, I posted some photos of figeater beetles eating my figs. Similarly, Alek has posted some beautiful photos of peach wasps eating his fine Colorado peaches.

(Alek was featured here and here in Boing Boing in 2005 for his excellent online Christmas lights prank.) Link

  1. Aw, I love good insect photos, if I had a decent camera I’d be outside taking pictures of creepy-crawlies every chance I got. I’m so glad there are so many other folks out there who get the appeal of insects, too.

Thanks for posting these, they’re lovely (as are those figeater beetle ones, the coloring on those guys is delightful!) … although try as I might I can’t seem to see more than 17 wasps in that “peach wasps 11″ photo – darn it, now I feel all inadequate-like …

  2. So does anyone know what a peach wasp tastes like? Seems like it might taste pretty yummy… they are what they eat.
