Today on the nerdy comic-strip User Friendly -- a new version of the Canadian national anthem, in honour of the terrible proposal for a Canadian version of the US DMCA, a copyright law that has led to 20,000 lawsuits against music fans, terrible damage to innovation and free speech, all without paying artists or preventing infringement. Link (Thanks, Bruce!)

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

Cory, I do not want to be an ass here or anything, but is there a reason why the copyright notice was cropped from the comic you posted here?

  • Strixy

Shouldn’t that last line read, “all your IP are belong to us?”

    he he…

  • lunarworks

Great. I’d managed to completely flush the unfunny horror that is UserFriendly out of my brain. Now I’m aware of it again. Thanks.

  • Sue Grant

Thanks so much for posting User Friendly here, that strip always makes me laugh :)

  • Davin

I’m pretty sure I want the time back that it took me to look at that. I demand a Boingboing refund!

How much do I pay for this again? Oh. Shoot.

  • Domster

You want a refund, I want a french verse. Tomaeto, tomahto.

  • daylmer

LOL, I love it. Thanks for the early morning laugh! :)
