The Creative Commons 2007 fundraiser has almost attained its goal of $500,000. As of right now, $406,206 has been raised, and with a little push, they could make their goal by next week!
This Saturday's Creative Commons fifth birthday bash in San Francisco will feature a rare joint performance by Brazilian jazz legend/culture minister Gilberto Gil and his son, Bem!

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.
