The Snowden Principle

People, come on, it’s fiction ok? His wife, if he is even married, probably loves playing her part.

  • Takuan

horribly, but inexorably; this is more than good enough to create a TV series from

  • Stu Mark

I suggest that BoingBoing send someone to interview him for BoingBoingTV. I also suggest that BoingBoing try the sushi place near my house, it’s excellent.

  • CitrusFreak12

    @Stu Mark
Hahaha uh dude, it’s completely fictional. I thought that was clear.

  • HouseofJules

I don’t know what happened to what I just tried to comment, but it’s nowhere to be found. Anyway, this was hilarious and I thank you for bringing DONNIE (!) to my attention. Must blog about this ASAP.

I think we need some “You Suck at Discerning Humor” tutorials. Sheesh. Reminds me of the “long horse.”

  • Bren

It sounds just a few degrees treble-up of being done by Ron Moore and his wife Terry, just for kicks.

    Heh.

I just love it. I don’t care who this guy is. This is all kinds of terrific comedic art.

    @ #18:

Quiet! Don’t give the TV people any ideas. After the demise of the GEICO cavemen, they’re going to be looking for ideas just to hurt us.

  • PeaceLove

That’s almost certainly Dane Cook, which makes this a brilliant viral marketing ploy for a guy widely hated by critics over 30 and beloved by his hordes of young fans. I think Cook has found the perfect vehicle for his dry style here.

At the very least, he’s got a lot of new fans.

  • Antinous

    Peacelove,

If so, the side graphics in the second video (images of Dane Cook with file names like douche.jpg) would now make perfect sense.

  • easyrider

This is even funnier when you know that it’s a parody of the radiant vista photoshop tutorials and daily critiques at:

  • VitaminCM

I love this guy. And yes, this is exactly what happens at my house when I’m working on a new article or something.

  • GammaBlog

“Donny my bags aren’t going to pack themselves.” What the …. is going on in this household?

episode #2 is the best so far

  • themindfantastic

    Best. Tutorial. Set. Ever.

    DONNIE!!!

  • Stu Mark

It’s too perfect: My assumption is that the woman screaming “Donnie” is a recording of his ex-wife. If not, then it’s a sample from a movie, but I can’t figure out which one.

Either way, please, someone who knows this guy, tell him to do a full-fledged documentary on his own life, as I find him endlessly fascinating.

I know it’s early, but I think the word for 2008 will be “Donnie!”

  • sorted

I can totally identify with this, if you’re a guy in a marriage or long …. committment and your ‘better half’ is screaming your name for her beck and call…truly hell on earth, the worst eva! lol.

  • PopArtDiva

I am now totally involved in the soap opera of DONNIE THE HENPECKED PHOTOSHOP PUNDIT.

I want to smack DONNIE for being whipped. Then I want to smack his shrew wife. Then I wonder, did anyone else see all the gun photos in the bridge in the first episode?

“No animals were harmed in the making of these tutorials – except one cat.”

    LOL

  • the_boy

These are great. I’m waiting for the “If this van’s a rockin’, some guy named Ricky is drilling my wife” shirts.

  • Axx

    mmmmm. liar crevice.

  • chezzo

    @ #6
    “It’s too perfect”

What, you thought for one second that it was actually real? Comic genius it may be, but autobiographical it is not.

  • chezzo

    sorry, that was @ #5

  • Cupcake Faerie

    meat stick! whore hand….

  • franko

episode 2 totally rules, but this one gets me laughing out loud, too — i love how is voice starts breaking as if from a combined emotional stew of stress and pain. awesome.

  • Anonymous

This one wasn’t really funny, but kind of sad.

  • jmetter

I actually learned something — never bothered much with adjusting “flow” on the eraser or brush. Thanks, Donnie.

  • HarshLanguage

The pathetic, defeated (and ironic) “No problem” at the end was the best part IMHO. But it’s all hilarious.

  • nex

I don’t think you’re actually supposed to learn anything – at least I hope so. For example, in a real tutorial, showing the lasso technique without also mentioning the patch tool would be criminally insane. Of course you still can learn stuff – if you suck at Photoshop :-p

  • groovehouse

Man, those are funny. Looking forward to the next one!

  • SapphireSniper

#14 Nex, I’m glad I suck at photoshop so that I can learn from this guy :p I can’t stand dry, serious tutorials.
