Scientists at the Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research at the University of Arizona discovered a Douglas fir in Utah that started life in 323 BC, and have been able to prove that the entire 20th c. was an anomaly as far as rainfall in the West was concerned — far wetter than historically. And now that wet period is over:"One Nevada water authority official said, 'It's like the impact of global warming fell on us overnight.'"
