Here's a fantastic take-off on the Barack Obama Yes We Can video, in which McCain sings "bomb bomb bomb Iran," and says that we're going to be in Iran for 100 years, while singing Americans look on in abject terror. Link

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

Not as good as the ‘No You Can’t’ video, IMO:

Reality sucks. Better to acknowledge it than to run away in abject terror.

Say we pull out of Iraq. From where do we attack Iran and Syria when the time comes? We’ve had peace for so long that Americans have forgotten there’s a balance of power we have to maintain, there are strategic interests we have to protect.

That said, McCain does remind me of Martin Sheen’s character in The Dead Zone.

  • eiconoclast

Um… given that we’re still in Germany, South Korea, Japan, etc… what is the problem with being in Iraq for a long time? He did not say that we’d be fighting in Iraq for 100 years, just that we’d have troops there. Given how batshit insane the Iranians are and how likely they are to get nuclear weapons, having some bases next door isn’t a bad idea.

If we withdraw all of our troops before the Iraq government is capable of defending itself, then Iran will take over.

Too bad that we’ll never see the Ron Paul one.

  • shudderstep

    @clumpy:
That’s because there’s a conspiracy to keep Ron Paul videos off youtube. But if you just send 99.95 to Dr. Paul he can get a blimp to float over Washington displaying lulz for all the world to see.

Some people sure do care alot about politics in places where they cant or dont vote.

  • Talia

The slogan at the end just makes it for me.

  • Trenien

Uh, you are aware that any and all the Iraq/Iran war have always been initiated by Iraq, at the behest of various Western Powers (US not being the least of them)?

  • rollo333

That’s BARACK Obama. Can’t anyone get it right???

  • malcolmkass

Wow, democrats are mindless sheep just like republicans. Shocking.
