Here are a couple of clips from a 1966 movie called The Adventures of Rat Pfink a(nd) Boo Boo, made by Ray Dennis Steckler, perhaps best known for his 1964 movie, The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies.
If Ray Dennis Steckler is remembered for nothing else, he should be remembered for RAT PFINK AND BOO BOO, a film that is the very definition of cult classic. In an interview on the DVD, Steckler admits he was influenced by the original 'Batman' serial, and always wanted make a movie of the Dynamic Duo. So RAT PFINK became Ray's chance to make his childhood dream come true. It has all those great 'Steckler' moments – long chase scenes (from the initial mugging of the woman to a zany chase on the Rat-cycle), funky musical montages (with a great '60's rock sound by Ron Haydock, a.k.a. Vin Saxon, a.k.a. Lonnie Lord), and absolute bizarreness – wait until you meet Kogar, the swingin' ape! Acting is by the 'regulars' – Steckler's kin and associates – but all do fine jobs in RAT PFINK'S wacky escapades. The music, and I would be remiss not to note the excellent theme song – is an outstanding blend of sixties surf rock and be-bop jazz.
