Actually it reads:

"PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK THESE DOORS UNLESS WE SAY: 'OH ALRIGHT THEN JUST THIS ONCE"

In the village of Kettlewell in the Yorkshire Dales there is a gateway that bears the sign "Don't Even Think About Parking Here". My father, on seeing it, immediately rang the doorbell and gleefully confessed to having fantasised about wedging a tractor at 45 degrees across the road in front of said gateway.

There are very popular banners in Mexico to put up on your garage door, which say: "Se ponchan llantas gratis", "Free tyre puncturing". Does that qualify as passive/agressive?

I still think my funny no parking signage was better. Xeni liked it too, but no official post?

My daughter and son-in-law used to own a house that had an alley running along one side. Neighborhood people would routinely walk their dogs alongside their home and leave without picking up. They put up a sign politely asking people to clean up after their dogs but it did no good. My son-in-law eventually rigged up a motion detector and sprinkler that soaked any dog and their human companion if they got too close to the house. One nimrod actually had the balls to bang on their door when he got wet. Unfortunately for him, my son-in-law was home. It was a very short confrontation. You see, my daughter's husband is a very sweet guy but he's also 6'2" and is built like Evander Holyfield. The guy may have peed himself but since his pants were already soaked no one would have noticed.

An alley or any other paved surface probably requires cleanup. But way too many people are sticklers for cleanup in grass or at parks and lawns... outside where organic matter naturally biodegrades. Dog poop on grass will be gone in a day or two. Some people really need to get over their psychological compulsion for a perception of a sterile environment.

Or live in a climate with 2% humidity. Nothing biodegrades here. It turns to granite.

Even though a license is legally required, costs a mere $8.50 a year and can be easily obtained by mail, most dog owners ignore the law, and with good reason

We'll be needing a cat license next.

In the town where I grew up someone had painted just as crudely on their regular garage door: "No se orine aqui!" Which I think means "Don't piss here!"
There weren't many hispanic residents in this town, yet the message was there for years.

Zuzu, I see you never go barefoot, or sit on the grass.

Worrying about the risk of stepping on a used syringe or rusty nail hits me long before I even think about dog poop. (I also worry about ticks in grass.) I'm all for going barefoot, just not where I can't really see what I'm stepping on. I do enjoy the feel of grass under my feet though.

As for sitting on the grass... in addition to dog poop, there's also mud and grass stains, so not very often. Usually I or someone will bring a blanket if a group of friends are sunning in the park drinking beer or whatnot.

Zuzu @6

"Some people really need to get over their psychological compulsion for a perception of a sterile environment."

I assume that means that you have no such compulsion. In that case, give me your address and I'll come over and piss in your living room.

#6. Hey ZuZu, I would love to stop picking up after my dog everytime he drops a deuce in the grass. What's your address, I'll just swing him by your way because apparently poo biodegrades at your place faster than it does in my neighborhood. So glad I read your comment today, I'll never have to obey scoop law again!!! (Plus I really like the signs on the doors).
