Here's a beautifully crafted hand-cranked automaton of a human hand, impatiently tapping its index finger.
Soon to come, foot tapper, thumb twiddler and tuneless whistler.
Truly gorgeous. It’d also be cool if the hand-cranking could ‘wind’ it so that it could continue past the time of being cranked- is it truly an automaton if it requires constant input?
But aside from that, gorgeous! I love the translucency of the nails and the detailing. The bronze ‘joint’ is perfect.
Here’s a nifty papercraft kit for tapping fingers!
This is beautiful. Job well done Chris.
heh I made one of these a while ago, (although this one is much more beautiful) I love the simplicity of the mechanism!
(my rather more dubious one: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=a-glVdOsojs )
