Secrets of the Mouse: insider Disneyland guide

Oh, I really like the look of Secrets of the Mouse, an insider guide to Disneyland:

Secrets of the Mouse is a unique look at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, CA. It presents a view of the park from a behind-the-scenes perspective, with information about the hidden secrets and inside jokes scattered throughout Disneyland.

It is intended to be a look at the magic behind the magic of Disneyland, and will give the reader a greater appreciation for the incredible efforts and innovations that create the Disneyland experience. If seeing how a magic trick works spoils the fun for you, then you might want to try another guide. However, if you find yourself asking “How do they do that?” when you see an oncoming boulder in Indiana Jones or translucent ghosts in the Haunted Mansion, this guide is here to satisfy your curiosity.

Secrets of the Mouse, Buy it on Amazon (Thanks, Akma!)

  1. Purchased! I am going in October and this will be beter than carrying around printouts of similar stuff from various website. Now I jsut need a “Hidden Mickeys” paperback….

  2. Ed, you might try this one:

    Disneyland’s Hidden Mickeys

Looks like a good starter guide, though it’s far from complete. I was just in Anaheim a few months ago and had some time to kill in Star Traders, so I flipped through this book. For example, it says there are zero Mickeys in Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters, and I found a nice obvious one my first time ever through the ride immediately afterward. But hey, it’s only ten bucks (or five used), and it’ll fit in your pocket.

  3. Yes, more unknown Disney “audio artifacts” can be heard and downloaded here:

Sorry for the proto-spam, but when people talk Disney, I can’t help but point them to the side of Disney before it became a public company and things were made for the sake of a “dream” rather than a “dollar”. May God bless Mr. Disney and his dream, and may more people rise to his authenticity, rather than to their 401-k portfolio.

  4. “A Piddle Diddle Disneyland” is now available for free download in mp3 format from the Negativland site:

This chronicles a live broadcast from Disneyland by Doug Piddle and Peter Diddle. They talk live with Negativland’s roving reporter the Weatherman who is riding various attractions in the park and they interview Negativland’s Rex Everything as he reveals some of the secrets of the history of the park from his as yet unpublished and unpublishable book about the happiest place on earth.

  5. The alleged oldradiofun site does not work. The only thing online matching that URL is a page in Chinese that has no connection whatsoever with Disney or radio shows.
