Dude, that video is crazy… On the one hand it reminds me of this aerobics show I used to watch on Sunday mornings. There were three people doing their aerobic dance, each on a different level. This totally reminded me of that. It also reminded me of the time I was forced to choreograph a musical for 4th graders in the musical style of Michael Jackson/era of the sparkly glove, etc. It was every bit as horrifiying as this post implies.

Yeah, I’m 34 and my girlfriend of about the same age calls me ‘dude’ all of the time.

It’s more of just an exclamation/interjection than a pronoun most of the time, though, like “Hey – it’s really trippy.” (replace ‘hey’ with ‘dude’)

We Californians actually do say ‘dude’, ‘man’, ‘totally’ and ‘rad’ as much as you think. It’s just how it is. Every region has it’s dialects.

Oh, and cool vid. I like MGMT.

If you’re into the whole ‘outsider art/wtf’ aesthetic, I’d recommend anything directed by Scarlet O’Hara Lee Jenkins. Pretty solid stuff.

Good video, OK song -though my wife would give me the evil eye if she caught me watching it. If it isn’t “classic rock” and wasn’t recorded in the late 60′s, 70′s or 80′s it isn’t music to her.

I lived in San Diego, CA for a little over a year in the late 80′s and to my horror, started calling people dude. That part of CA is beautiful and I have a lot of great memories from those days. The best was probably the night me and my buds walked all night down Mission Beach with Jimi Hendrix blasting out from out boom box. I was 20 – We were drunk – Good times.
