Los Angeles's Furious Theatre Company is known for its edgy, intense, and experimental plays. Last year, I posted
about their staging of "Canned Peaches In Syrup," a post-apocalyptic comedy whose cast included my brother, Robert Pescovitz. Furious's current production is "The Night Before Christmas," a holiday comedy for adults. Anthony Nellson wrote the play and my brother directed it. "The Night Before Christmas" runs until December 20 at the Pasadena Playhouse. Yesterday, the Los Angeles Times gave the production a glowing review, describing it as a "a notably smart adult-oriented standout." From the play description:
In the Los Angeles premiere of this “adults-only” Christmas comedy, two cockney thugs discover what could be a real-life elf during the night shift at a London warehouse on Christmas Eve. A hooker with a (somewhat) heart of gold also shows up expecting to collect the coveted toy of the season, which was promised to her in exchange for sexual favors. Together, the three try to sort out if the elf is real and may just stumble upon the true meaning of Christmas.

Ok, it’s not just solar powered. It’s also an anti-theft, waterproof marvel that keeps my phone’s power bar from ever getting into the red.Sure the idea seems obvious now – tuck a gigantic solar powered battery pack into an exposed slot and turn the wearer into a walking energy harvester. Simple maybe, but I didn’t […]
If you want to work in tech, but don’t have any desire to code web apps to help businesses sell things to other business, you might want to consider a career in cybersecurity. Judging from the apparent complete infiltration of Russian hackers in American cyberspace, it seems fair to speculate that there’s a major shortage of […]
All moms are different. But all moms like getting flowers on Mother’s Day, and that’s a fact (not, however a fact we can document in any fashion.) Instead of getting chewed out for forgetting to call her on the second Sunday of May, you can take care of it ahead of time with Teleflora’s flower […]
