    The Mighty Boosh = highly over-rated :)

    Oh.
    My.
    God.
    Yes.

  • sheamcf

Maybe this will fill my Wonder Showzen void

  • stumo

I bought a DVD of this for my brother when he was studying for his A levels (pre-uni exams). He wasn’t quite sure what to make of it for the first 5 minutes, then he realised that it must be a spoof.

Get someone to watch it and tell them it’s real…

  • Lemon

Series one with the 10 minute episodes is great. Series two with the 30 minute episodes less so. But it might just be me.

  • wormbaby

I loved this when it was on BBC America. Now how much longer must I wait for the Mighty Boosh?

  • minTphresh

adult swim has really been kicking some serial ass lately, what with ‘Metalacalypse’, ‘the Drinky Crow Show’, ‘ATHF’, ‘robot chicken’. ‘Frisky Dingo’, ’12 oz. Mouse’ and ‘Squidbillies’! some of the only watchable stuff on teevee these days. looking forward to checking out ‘Look Around You’.

Also contains lots of cameos from Edgar Wright – the director of Spaced, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Not sure if he directed this too, but it stands a fair chance, I guess.

    @8

+1 on series one being good, 2 left me “meh” with the more personality/presenter based shizzle, was more like some sort o’ sketch show. 1 is the mutant child of all the 16mm educational films you were shown as a kid.

    but it aint no wondershowzen…..

“The opposite of the brain is probably the bum…”

    Awesome.

  • karengeier

season one was a cavalcade of awesome, but season two is a bit lacking, as they changed the format greatly. still, look around you is amazing.

  • Steaming Pile

    Number one…the larch. The…larch.

    Thanks, Robert Popper.

I one espisode a while ago on Adult Swim – it was a wonderful surprise. A reason to watch Adult Swim again!

    @SHEAMCF

Wonder Showzen carves out a hole in your soul that nothing else will ever fill, but Look Around You does well in its own right. I found it a lot like old SCTV, where I wouldn’t often laugh when watching it, but did uncontrollably when thinking about the sketches later. Beautiful stuff.

  • A New Challenger

Wondershowzen’s puppet sex got old quick, but there was some true brilliance in that show.

Brain Busters Brain Busters BRAIN BUSTERS!

    Thanks ants. Thants.

omg this is a dream come true

  • se7a7n7

HUGE LOL at the scientist firing a pistol into a trashcan.

  • chezzo

“We’re passing an alternating direct current through some iron. We’re using ACDC because iron is a heavy metal.”

“The scientist cracks open the egg. Watch out for the new albumen… it’s out now!”

“What is water? That’s a very tricky question to answer because nobody really knows. You might as well ask, what are birds? What *are* birds? We just don’t know.”

Yeah I agree, Series 1 is much better than 2 – 1 is a spoof of school science programs, 2 is a spoof of Tomorrow’s World type shows.
