Trans Am
This a lifesize inflatable Trans-Am created by transmedia installation artist Guy Overfelt. The unusual object will be on display at "oh, Maybe..." an Emeryville, California art exhibition staged in conjunction with the de Young Museum's Warhol Live exhibition. The opening night "Factory Party" is this Friday, March 6, from 6-11pm. Guy Overfelt: Think Context

I am definitely going to that “Factory Party” in Emeryville this Friday. I’ll probably be wearing my white Warhol wig if any other boingers want to say hi.

If he really wanted to make it look even more real, he would have made it without wheels and blocked it up on four inflatable cement blocks…

‘Bad decisions are more likely in a 1977 Trans Am.’

    (paraphrasing Mister Jalopy.)

Haha… can they put it into a pool?

It’s just like the ones that the Allies used to fool the Axis before the great G-Day invasion (in which thousands of Guidos stormed the beaches of Asbury Park).

  • Jeff9821

Also, if you look hard, you can see the inflatable 8-track tapes of Foghat and Journey on the passenger side floor!

    Needs an inflatable Burt Reynolds.

You guys are giving me the munchies and dry-mouth.

I wanna see an inflatable cast of Heavy Metal Parking Lot drinking inflatable Michelobs.

  • boingaddict

it would look even more awesome if he would of used an internal bladder system to make the shape less balloony….looks good though hehe

  • kavalec

    Fill it with helium.

  • Kieran O’Neill

Heh. Almost as good as Russia’s inflatable arsenal.

  • Takuan

why not a war with all inflatable weapons?

  • dezeinstein

This looks like a ’78 -I had one.
    This one probably runs better.

  • Phikus

Great for holding that rare parking space for you.

    Jeff9821@9: FTW!

  • ridl

“transmedia”? how meta-. or post-. or very.

  • domeier

Golf clap, but it should be sitting on inflatable cinder blocks instead of wheels. Maybe throw in an inflatable single-wide to park it in front of, while you’re at it…

  • dakine

I suppose this goes with the inflatable smoke…

  • TroofSeeker

Great! Now my inflatable girlfriend is gonna be demanding one of these!

    (can’t believe I’m first.)

Inflatable Trans-Am? Not to be confused with the aircar (car that runs on compressed air). -=)
