They need to use distributed (P2P) caches and data stores. A centralized system for such popular non-profit sites is not sustainable. Distributed P2P data stores and HTTP caches already exist they just need to be aware of them and get people to use them. Wikileaks (and Wikipedia) don’t need more donations they need to

It had been blocked for a short while by my ISP's DNS server, for some reason at the time... I'd forgotten what the URL for Wikileaks is/was. D'oh! This IP address is the address returned by a whois lookup - it's a computer in Sweden. It's good to know in case Wikileaks is 'disappeared' again. I think they do. The problem is that no-one else does. So when SlashDot links to their website, it still goes down.
