That may well be the book I have at home. I remember being mesmerised by the rant-based structure.

Using the same words every time: "that the earth is not, as has hitherto been believed, a solid sphere but..." then explaining at great length what some guy said, then quoting at great length from what the guy said, and then "which shows that the earth is not, as has hitherto been believed, a solid sphere but..."

And then onward to what some other guy said.

Neato. This is where the hollow earth in the Warlord comics of the late '70s and '80s was from. Too bad Bernard died before seeing them. Then again, maybe he'd sue for using his creation.

Over at the Wikipedea page they say DC and Mike Grell may try to bring back the series.

"Hollow Earth" seems like a pretty good description of our current pop culture.

@3 A friend of mine used to have this book I think. We brought it and showed it to our 8th grade science teacher.

The theory is not that there's a hollow earth separate from us folks on the outside, it's that we in fact are living on the inside.

Can we get him into a room where he can debate someone from the flat earth society, and a young earth creationist at the same time?

Didn't listen, but the original hollow earth guy was Cyrus Teed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyrus_Teed He's profiled in Martin Gardner's fantastic book Fads and Fallacies of Science. A must read.
