My little nephew Jaxon (2.5 years) is crazy for Eric Herman's "Elephant Song" and the accompanying video on YouTube -- and now my daughter (1.5 years) has caught the bug. It's some funny stuff, provided your sense of humor is still at toddler level (as mine apparently is!).

The Elephant Song - Cool Tunes for Kids by Eric Herman (Thanks, Jaxon!)

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

Awesome – good times with animals. Although as a psychologist I’m amused that the key feature of mice is that they run through mazes for cheese :v

adorable. I was giggling like… well.. a 3-yr old throughout the whole thing. “You don’t know anything about animals!”

My son LOVED this song, as did I… I think this was the first youtube video he ever saw, too…

  • jackie31337

Oh, I loved that! I think my daughter will too, when she sees it. I guess all kids go through a phase where their idea of a hilarious joke is to say that something is something that it’s not.

This makes me want to have another kid, just to show them this in a couple of years when they’d really appreciate it. My youngest is 10 now — he’ll like it, but not like a toddler would.

Jackie31337 — uh, wait, you’re supposed to grow out of it?

well this is better than teletubbies..

Has he gotten hooked on “The Duck Song” yet? Another classic example of simple flash and a catchy kids’ song appealing to toddler level humor.

    Hah! That’s pretty sweet :)
