I love how they go from “the top tax bracket may have to go to 80-90%, even 95%” to “therefore the government will take away 95% of everyone’s money, and there will be roving gangs and cities will be wasteland.” After hearing that, what red-blooded American wouldn’t grab his sniper rifle to stave off that future?

For once, Glenn Beck isn’t the point.

Hear, hear! Man falls on LIVE national TV show, someone cuts in a video of a cat (toonses, from SNL?) playing the organ, and several BB’s get derailed by the mere “presence” of Glenn Beck in the video.

For those that argue Glenn should have acted faster, remember this: it was unexpected, the fellow WHISPERS to Glenn, and the whole thing took what 10-15 seconds? In context, his reaction was fine (and, IMHO, normal) – but for many, it seems context doesn’t matter (‘cuz the left-wing blogs tell them Beck is the anti-christ, despite his massive ratings (TV and radio), his NYT bestselling books, and his sold-out live shows.) Being popular doesn’t mean he is right, but he must be on to something.

Mr. Hutton this is one of the most frustrating things I read on the comments on Boingboing. I appreciate your opinion, and the right to your opinion. However it is called “boing boing a directory of wonderful things”. No where is it advertised as Boing boing a directory of brand spanking new things. I and a few others found the video and the guests ability to explain what was happening interesting. So at least it does fit the criteria of BoingBoing.

As for the rest, KevinC does have a point. It is usually best to support your arguments then to have them come back to bite you, because you neglected to research them and left yourself open to the “show me” can of worms. That is just a cautionary word of advice, lord knows I have stuck my foot in the mouth several times, but I try to learn from my mistakes.

Back to topic: The more I think about this clip, the more it haunts me. This guy’s composure and self-awareness are totally awesome. I now hope that my own last word before I die is “Gone.” As in, “Going, going…” =D

FreedomWorks is run by ladies’ man (and registered lobbyist) Dick Armey, and if they’re not “organizing” the Tea parties, it’s news to them.

The only place the name “Beck” appears in the linked to “article” (aka blog posting by SUSIEQQ) is in the title of the post where s/he poses a rhetorical question. A mention in the headline of a wordpress.com blog is proof of little more than that the author can spell the name “Beck”.

Sorry, you missed on that one – but for too many netizens, your 30 seconds equals “research” and “proof” – it is only speculation by Max Blumenthal (author of the article SUSIEQQ completely copied onto her blog), not that the shooter had Glenn Beck Propoganda with him when he pulled the trigger, as originally asserted.

The shooter was posting on Alex Jones’s website, and in case you missed it – Alex Jones is not Glenn Beck.

@samsam The keyboard cat is relatively new meme that has gone viral recently. So even if you have not heard of him, you will see him around for a while. The keyboard cat video was filmed in the late eighties/early nineties and stuck on the web by performance artist Charlie Schmidt. Other people took it to use to “play people off” after some misfortune. Sometimes they are hilarious, sometimes not so much. Because I know what it’s like to get sick, I did not find this particular keyboard cat video funny. In my opinion, a funnier keyboard cat video might would be this one, as there is not a medical condition/emergency at hand.

The cat’s name was Fatso, and he passed away a year ago. Keyboard cat was “helped” with playing by the artist’s hand in his costume.
