Antinous, it is the Hall of Flowers- er, I mean it was. It's called the County Fair Building now. It's the same location that SF Zine Fest has been for the last couple of years.

Here's hoping that Sean Logic (and oh, come on, are we to believe that's his real name?) gets similarly hoaxed by someone else.

I guess its a good "swindle", collecting comments from people. But back in '99, pre-social networking days, I had a college buddy running this same scam - collecting cold hard cash instead of racy comments. He just had to snag a picture set of some girl online, post it on Yahoo's old local classifieds, and people would mail him money to a PO box just to have more pictures posted, all because they thought she was real and local.

LOL. LOLOLOLOL. My real-life nickname is Amber (based on a joke about someone who is the opposite of me) and I set up my MySpace using that. I now spend a lot of energy telling guys I am not a hot babe.

What, no snail mail address? If he's going to publish a traditional zine, he should be accepting orders the traditional way too.

I loved me some zines back in the days of yore before tha IntarWebs got all big. Still have a small stack here: I've got Impetus, a couple of issues of Bouillabaisse, and Cokefish. The first issue of Rant. Three issues of Struggle: A Magazine of Proletarian Revolutionary Literature (I'm in one of those, actually, which is not surprising, because I'd spewed off an anti-First Iraq War screed and Revolutionaries like that sort of thing), and th'advenchurzza scab boy. There's Mandrake Makes Madonna in Marmelade, and r.l. nichols & faggot friends & poesy pals preferrin' cock (or love 666). Shattered Wig #11. And, of course, Holy Titclamps, which is still around. Lyn Lifshin is in about half of these things. She's still around too, and remains insanely prolific. You can also buy stuff from the Christies, who run Alpha Beat Press and published Bouillabaisse and Cokefish.

The last time I saw Dave and Ana Christy, I was at their place in New Hope, PA in 1996 hanging out with eliott, joe r., Bobby Starr, and my pal Lauren, none of whom you know or have ever heard of. Bobby Starr's photocopied zines and broadsides were dotted with anuses that he'd cut from porn mags. When I left that evening, he was on the floor with his head in an overturned kitchen trashcan, as a ward against incipient vomit.

True story.
