(CLick for big) Jerry Lewis likes Drew Friedman's NY Observer piece so much that he invited him to be his guest at the MDA Labor day Telethon this coming weekend in Las Vegas. I like it, too!

Mojave: Is this what you mean?

I just typed “Martin Lewis” into the BB Search box at upper right, and it’s the first hit.

  • Ugly Canuck

XEnu: I remember seeing Mr.Friedman’s works in the Lampoon, in Raw, and in Heavy Metal ( IIRC ).
    But not Mad.

    Drawn with fidelity, sez I.

Nice artwork, yes. Jerry Lewis though, nah, let’s just let this guy fade off into the dustbin already. He’s done a lot of damage in the world too…

He’s been very effective at turning disability into something to pity, rather than genuinely help…

Drew Friedman is one of the most talented guys I have ever met. I had a quick meeting with him when he was the cartoon editor at National Lampoon.
I came off as an a$$hole, and have regretted it ever since.
This Jerry Lewis piece is fantastic!

I too met Drew Friedman once, and he is as funny in person as his comics. The art is fantastic and his writing is hilarious as well. Writing runs in Drew’s family as his brother Josh is a writer, and his dad, Bruce Jay Friedman is a highly regarded novelist and screenwriter. And yes, Drew has done numerous pieces for for MAD Magazine, as well as Time magazine!

    Brilliant graphic.

I had some Drew Friedman trade paperbacks and he has one comic that touches on the movie Jerry made where he plays a clown that lures kids into a concentration camp. Hmmm…

  • Xenu

I take it this guy worked at Mad Magazine at some point?

  • EH

There’s another great Drew illo of Jerry from Spy Magazine that accompanied their story on “The Day The Clown Cried.”
