  1. That was awesome!! I remember playing Zork on a Apple IIe. Makes me want to find a copy and try playing it again. I don’t think I ever finished it.

  2. thanks for this!

it was a real feeling of accomplishment when I finally beat zork!

wish I could my kids to play it..not even for money..

  3. Unbelievable. The fourteen-year old dork on the Commodore 64 just jumped out of me, laughed and ran to the north…

  4. Great song, but I don’t think there was anything about Zork that really merited this super stacatto delivery. I think it would have been funnier if it was all moody like Leonard Cohen or better yet William Shatner. I’d at least like to be able to understand more than every 5th word.

That’s not to say I don’t love it. I can almost feel the big stiff keyboard under my fingers and the green on black screen.

  5. I case you’re not aware of it, you should also look up “It is pitch dark” (yes, dark, not black) on Youtube. It’s an interactive fiction song by MC Frontalot.

  6. ZORK< Kill *.* with sword. Look North ( the road is dark and forbidding ! I wouldnt go that way...) Go North.... Id type... Loved it cause imagination was still involved. I had a multi dimentional map i drew to picture this literary world and loved it !!! First on my cassette Apple and then a floppy disk...Friggin High Tech....Dos was my friend and i was the master of my domaine and computer. Kids today would cringe at the sight of DOS....Those were exciting times. US Festival... I was there. D.T.F 1984 grad. H.S.
