Wow. How fabulously obscure!
That was awesome!! I remember playing Zork on a Apple IIe. Makes me want to find a copy and try playing it again. I don’t think I ever finished it.
thanks for this!
it was a real feeling of accomplishment when I finally beat zork!
wish I could my kids to play it..not even for money..
Unbelievable. The fourteen-year old dork on the Commodore 64 just jumped out of me, laughed and ran to the north…
What wonderfully perfect timing, as just yesterday I gave my 9yr old son ZORK and recorded his every move…
so many afternoons…
Great song, but I don’t think there was anything about Zork that really merited this super stacatto delivery. I think it would have been funnier if it was all moody like Leonard Cohen or better yet William Shatner. I’d at least like to be able to understand more than every 5th word.
That’s not to say I don’t love it. I can almost feel the big stiff keyboard under my fingers and the green on black screen.
beautiful
Oh THAT’s what you’re supposed to do there… well that explains everything.
There is a Zorkmid for sale on Ebay….
I case you’re not aware of it, you should also look up “It is pitch dark” (yes, dark, not black) on Youtube. It’s an interactive fiction song by MC Frontalot.
