John sez, "Batman: Year 100 creator Paul Pope illustrated three Japanese concept cars for GQ, as well as a flying car of his own design. You can see all the illustrations at the GQ link."

It Will Come From Japan!

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

Hackers prepare for first "national holiday" in their honor

  • blueelm

    I dig their boots.

  • strumpet windsock

Cute, but I don’t think either of those land-based vehicles would get me too far on gravel roads in winter.

I expect the glass repair shops will love them, though.

  • EMJ

A vehicle that uses scantily clad young women to sell is not going to interest at least half the population.

  • IamInnocent

About the Puyo: “VW van”? “Gumpy”? What were these grandpa? The lamest possible defense of the uncluttered inside of the car? Use of pinup girls for a car that really, really isn’t likely to appeal to the machos of this world?
Looks like Pope or whoever wrote the script is not equipped to keep up with the times… or display even the most basic… err, elementary… minimal… nanoscopic common sense.

Is it wrong that I find their outfits far more interesting than the car?

  • peterbruells

Is it me, or does the first picture look like the little car with the nice semi-naked girls frowning?

And the flying cars looks like Archie, the Owl-Mobile from Watchmen.
