paa.jpg An anonymous Boing Boing reader writes,
Bollywood (I know it is one of your many interests) has a new movie out called 'Paa' - literally means 'father. Starring the First Family (father/son duo) of Bollywood - Amitabh Bachan and Abhishek Bachan. Roles are reversed in this movie. Abhishek (the son in real life) is cast as the father of Auro (played by Amitabh) who is suffering from Progeria. Like Tsimfuckis.
Paa, the film.

Hackers prepare for first "national holiday" in their honor

  • Baron Karza

OK, I know my coffee hasn’t kicked in yet, but the first thing that flashed through my mind on seeing this photo was “oh look, a Ferengi with a jet pack.” I’m going back to sleep now…

  • tweaked

“Ferengi with a jet pack” is pretty spot-on.
But I had to also point out that it doesn’t seem this movie is just incidentally featuring a character who happens to have the same disorder as Tsimfuckis… look at the right column on the film’s website that you guys linked to! That is a Tsimfuckis pose if I even did see one.

  • agger

Wow, is that really nearly-70-year-old Amitabh Bachchan playing that role!

Kudos to Amitabh the superstar for taking on so uncanny/unlikely/different.

  • reveredelder

I saw the film and was amazed at Amitabh Bachchan’s portrayal of a 13 year old boy who has rapidly aged to the equivalent of 80 years. A powerful performance that had me crying through most of the second half of the movie. Progeria is a rare genetic condition, with just over 40 known cases worldwide. The kids live an average of 13 years.
