		<description>They strike me more as -repurposed- pocket watches, with their actual usage in those shapes being more akin to mantle-clocks or timepieces for a nightdresser or the like.

It seems unlikely that they&#039;d have actually been carried in one&#039;s pocket the way they are now, but I can understand why someone might want to convert a cheap pocket watch into a small decorative clock.
