A French design firm has created a series of flower vases inspired by plumbing. They're made of PVC, and really beautiful — I'd love to have a set like this in my living room.

And why exactly do we need more pvc?
Read up on it before you buy.

  • logodesignguru

I feel the creative ideas is a superb one. looks good and workable too.

“They look like they’re made from PVC plumbing pipes.”

“No. They are inspired by PVC plumbing pipes.”

    “And they’re made from?”

    “PVC.”

    “And they’re pipes?”

    “Yes.”

“So, by ‘inspired by’, you mean ‘the same as, but a lot more expensive’?”

    “Oui.”

buy pipes. paint green, place on red brick table…

  • nixiebunny

Perhaps if they just had a bunch of non-functional valves like steampunk stuff, then they’d be beautiful and we’d all want to buy them.

  • kaiza

The idea is interesting. The execution – not so much. The base module looks like a jam jar with a hole in the lid.

They’re also prohibitively expensive – anyone surprised?

They also come in handy if your sink starts leaking.

That one on the right looks like it’d make a pretty decent bong.

  • DarwinSurvivor

I would never trust this “design firm”. First of all, they have started selling plubming as decorations. Second of all, their website literally uses cross-out css for showing the selected item in the navigation.

    Nice free advertising though…

It looks like the _are_ pvc drain pipes, spray painted. Inspired by – or made of…

  • nehpetsE

The “coolness” of flower vase made of pipe fittings is the implication that the owner re-purposed materials that otherwise would have gone into a landfill.

I put this in the same category of cheese as buying new distressed jeans.

  • nehpetsE

but this does look a cool resource (if the company still exists.) Through-colored pvc pipe!

You could easily achieve the same effect with a spray can and some pipe fittings.
As for “repurposed” well, thats the last thing you want to do with a used plumbing fitting.

  • juliegomoll

A couple of them could also double as bongs :)

What DO YOU want to do with used plumbing fittings?
Do you save them for when you’re alone and amorous?

  • schmod

Watch out! Some of those flowers shoot fireballs!

  • DJBudSonic

I am delighted to find these objects being soundly panned in the comments. They look like your plumber forgot some stuff when he left. Just terrible, and not worthy of being called designed on any but the most basic level.

  • CastanhasDoPara

Wow that site is just badly made. The products or whatever they are look even worse. For example who the hell wants champagne in a giant glass bubble? The worst has to be those reclaimed wood and vacuum formed plastic chairs and table. UGGG-LYYY.

Another example of things for people with way to much money and way too little sense.

  • bklynchris

    ….are ugly. Princess Peach that’s funny : D
