At the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, AZ in the Slipher Rotunda Museum, there’s a mezzanine that has shelves full of Percival Lowell’s personal library.

My favorite book plate is the one used for most of the 20th century by the Ruth H Hooker library and the Naval Research Laboratory. A wonderful pen and ink illustration of an owl looking through a microscope on a pile of books including Maxwell’s Theory with an anchhor in the background.

Jessamyn, I’ve really enjoyed your posts! Thanks!

And yes, I’m with overunger. A McDonalds banner ad? On Boing Boing? I guess the only thing more amusing would be an RIAA “don’t pirate” ad: )

Wow. I haven’t seen BB with ads since … I don’t know when. That McDonalds ad is crazy. Thanks holtt, it was a pleasure.

Oh, man, don’t look at the ads! That causes brain damage.
