Last year, Tye Kuykendall of Georgia bought an impounded car from a towing company. While working on the car later, Kuykendall found a hidden compartment behind the back seat containing $200,000. Too bad the money was counterfeit. From the Associated Press:
A P Ap 20100128 Capt.Cfdce4E5Bbe74D8997Bf1839B0Ae33E0.Money In Car Ax101 Authorities said Kuykendall bought the car after it sat for more than three years in an impound yard after being towed by Fulton County police in 2006.

Authorities said he was fixing a gas leak when he discovered the secret compartment.

A couple of years ago, a friend of mine rented a car at the airport in Phoenix. He threw his carry-on in the back seat and drove to the hotel. Later that day, he opened the trunk and found a bail of pot. A big honkin duffel bag full of marijuana. He called the police, they took it away. I don’t know if they managed to track down the previous renters or not…

After watching ‘A Simple Plan’ and ‘No Country For Old Men’ I would’ve taken the money to the cops too.

  • LightningRose

Yeah, sure. The investigating cops just *told* him it was counterfeit.

Leave it, Jigen. It’s counterfeit, all of it.

Then he realized he might not still be alive if it were real, and rejoiced.
