MIT and Microsoft researchers demonstrated a system of gold leaf temporary tattoos for “on-skin user interfaces” including a touch sensor, near field communication antennae, and a low-res thermochromic display that changes color. From the research description: DuoSkin draws from the aesthetics found in metallic jewelry-like temporary tattoos to create on-skin devices which resemble jewelry. DuoSkin […]

But it isn’t giving up, and has already adjusted its […]
Maker Evan Booth transformed a Keurig K350 coffeemaker into a “bionic” hand. As William Gibson once wrote, “the street finds its own uses for things.”

What’s a legal standard?
I seem to recall the Constitution used to protect us. If it isn’t doing the job- you know we actually can amend it to clarify things a little.
Although, y’know what really gets me? The government can spy on you willy-nilly, but 9-11 operators can’t necessarily find your location on a cellphone when you need help- even in some major cities. (I know this from personal experience)
I think you mean “9-1-1” operators. As every conspiracy nut knows, the “9-11” operators have unlimited resources and can both monitor and manipulate all people at all times.
When I was a kid, my teachers all wrote “9-11” during those safety lectures that we all got as kids. At least that’s what I remember. It’s always made sense to me just because I tend to say “Nine-oneone” rather than give each “one” its space. Apparently though- I’m not alone.
I don’t know why we keep holding onto the pipe dream that the law applies to the law enforcers. Have you ever seen a cop use his lights and siren to run a red light? Did he pull him self over and give himself a ticket? Nope.
Well, the constitution was written a long time ago. It is a living document, you see, so interpretation of it can change over time to allow for different circumstances. We live in uniquely dangerous times so it’s good that the constitution can be made to authorize pretty much whatever those in power can think up.
“We live in uniquely dangerous times”
I hope that was sarcasm, because if it wasn’t, you should really try learning your history better.
Wrong questions. You should be asking if Obama knew about this and whether he should be impeached because of it.
