Megan sez, "A German gamer-geek couple created and designed this 8-bit video game (a la Mario Bros) to be their wedding invitations. Their guests have to win the game to get the wedding info."

Goddamn, that is an auspicious way to start a marriage.

8-bit video game wedding invitations! (Thanks, Megan!)

Previously:
  • Massive dance-number wedding entrance
  • Band Reunion at the Wedding
  • Steampunk wedding
  • Video game wedding: a letter and photos from the bride and groom ...
  • Zombie-themed wedding
  • Contemporary wedding video shot in grainy 8mm black and white ...
  • Katamari Damacy wedding!

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

What is a “Jewish-inspired” “free wedding” ceremony in Berlin like? Really, that was the most intriguing part of the invitation.

    SÜÜÜÜÜß!

Errr, so now the WHOLE Interwebs knows when and where their wedding is going to take place. D’OH!

Actually, the game doesn’t really say where – there’s general information, but not enough to actually locate the reception or the wedding site.

It makes sense that the bride saves the groom, since according to the credits the groom is taking the bride’s last name.

Music from Mastertronic’s “The Human Race” in the intro makes me all nostalgic.

    • Chairman Meow

The music from stage 2 is from “Crazy Comets”, also composed by Rob Hubbard.

My favourite thing about it is that it subverts gender roles by having the bride rescue the groom.

There are actually two versions one where you play as bride and one as groom. Look at the related videos.
