Co-founded by my pal David Katznelson, the Idelsohn Society is a non-profit dedicated to the musicology of great old Jewish music by the likes of Irving Fields, Gershon Kingsley, and The Barry Sisters. Following up on their killer Hanukkah Mix last year, the Idelsohn gang put together "Exodus 2.0," a new free compilation in celebration of Passover, which starts on sundown March 29. Josh Kun from Idelsohn says, "It's a taste of what's to come on our June release, BLACK SABBATH: THE SECRET MUSICAL HISTORY OF BLACK-JEWISH RELATIONS, featuring Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Johnny Mathis, & many more."
