Dark Roasted Blend has a fantastic roundup of junkbots and other robotic ephemera and goodies. I'm really taken with Ultrajunk's creations, which really take advantage of the decay and use-marks on his found-object materials to make robots that have a lot of texture and implied history.

Utterly Irresistible Robot Sculptures (Thanks, Marilyn!)

Previously:
  • Homemade R2D2 steampunk junkbot
  • Junkbots made from old hard-drives
  • Vietnamese junkbot builder
  • Kitchen appliance junkbot
  • Nerdbots: found-object junkbots
  • Mario Calcedo's Columbian junkbots Gadgets
  • Rusting space-marine robot toys

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

Reminds me of the robot sculptures from Bennett Robot Works. Gordon Bennett has been making robot sculptures for the last several years. Here’s a link to “Kenmore and Detecto #23″
