shelves of amoeba music? funny you should say that. one of the performers at coachella is or was an employee at ameoba/hollywood. i’ll leave it up to you to figure it out.

People who rag on DEVO are usually the most De-Evolved.

A rare Jocko Homo from the rare and expensive Devo Live, for the Ãœbermensch (it’s a concept):

huell howser goes to coachella 2008

i wish youtube still had the full version, especially when huell visited the coachella steampunk treefort, but alas, it is no more. words can not describe the bizarreness of huell’s pbs california road trip show, “california gold.” watch as hank hill explores coachella to discover an oasis of propane and propane accessories, i tell you what; meanwhile, the fun and interesting stuff bubbles teasingly out of view from the camera.

That looks like quite the party. I went to Coachella in 2003 and it was sweet! Most beautiful place in the US to throw a party.

Not that my voyeuristic urges aren’t being adressed with this livestream, but the images themselves are as remote as they can possibly be from my concept of a music festival.

But then again, this is Europe, so by the time the hedonistic debauchery starts I’ll be hugging the pillow.

Ooh! Hipsters in fedoras and flip flops on the make with the ladies. I’ll try to overcome my disappointment at missing this.

i am lost (as always with huge events).
where is this oasis at merv griffin’s house in relation to coachella?
is it actually on the concert site in some roped off area?
are people leaving the concert to hang out at merv’s then go back to coachella?
and how come soccer players always look so cool

Gary Numan, PiL, The Specials, Echo and the Bunnymen, Faith No More, DEVO, Sly Stone … is Coachella Latin for dinosaur? this is the Yes, ELP, Led Zeppelin, etc., reunion tours you laughed at as you rubbed your black fingernails through the shelves of Amoeba Music.

Hmm. I’m guessing you never listened to ‘Metal Box’. And, no disrespect to the excellent bands of the 80s you casually dismiss (let alone to the excellent bands of the 21st century, such as The xx), but surely the bigger issue is how many of the many bands from Europe are actually going to be able to make it?

  10. Wuss Brillis says:

I don’t remember being invited, thank you very much.

Anyway you forgot Graham Parker. DEVO? lol.
