Greatest and filthiest Muppet mashups

Here's a collection of ten inappropriate and wonderful Muppet mashups -- I'm very fond of this Muppet Treasure Island/Sex Pistols "Frigging in the Rigging" mashup.

Top 10 Muppet Mashups/Re-Cuts (Thanks, Brian!)

  1. (Sung loosely to the tune of Waltzing Matilda…)

Fri-gates Matilda/Fri-gates Matilda/Won’t you come frig in the rigging with me?/Oh we swung from the bunk/and we bunged another cabin boy!/Won’t you come frig old Matilda with me!/

–Firesign Theatre, The Giant Rat of Sumatra (i think)

  2. Best Pistols song by far. I had forgotten about it. I guess it’s really an old sea tune called ‘Good Ship Venus’

    1. It’s origins are terrestrial. It’s an old UK Rugby song. There are dozens (possibly hundreds)of different verses.
It’s not in any books of sea songs or shanties that I have seen.
Sadly, rugby songs have all but disappeared now.

      1. Although its origins may be land-lubbing, it’s about a ship, and it’s sug in the style of a seafaring song. I mean, the ‘Rigging’ is a reference to part of a ship. Whether or not it was a true seafaring song, it’s still a folk song in the tradition of the others. I’m sure it was a Rugby song as well as a Bar song, etc..

  3. Not really a mashup, but honorable mention should go to the high quality editing of the Miss Piggy x Peaches video.

Those poor Muppets get abused by everybody.

    1. “Fuck the pain away” – wasn’t that the first line of the theme song from Fraggle Rock?

  4. Doesn’t matter that it is talentless, stupid, utterly boring, as long as it is dirty muppets?

  5. I’d be far more impressed with the Never Gonna Give You Up if Beaker sang it himself with the ‘mimimi’ voice.

  6. Not the Muppets, but here’s a spontaneous mashup from some years back by an amateur Internet puppet show (probably one of the oldest continuous running shows on the Internet) that will appeal to those who, like me, grew up with the likes of the Uncle Floyd Show. ‘Spontaneous’ because it seems they were getting a little board late in their live four hour show when someone discovered a freeware karaoke program and they started inventing their own lyrics…

These guys are also the inventors of Chat Room Karaoke, where they sing what’s typed in the live IRC channel to random tunes.

  7. They missed out this little gem…

    Derek and Clive are muppets
    (Warning: Rude words!)
