Rebecca Dudeiros had her pastry chef friend Teresa Ulrich whip up this fantastic AT-AT wedding cake and matching Ewok cupcakes -- a sweetly nerdy way to begin a long and happy marriage, I'm sure.

Awesome Star Wars Wedding Cake (via Craft)

Previously:
  • Secret lives of AT-ATs
  • Star Wars: Evolution of the AT-AT t-shirt
  • AT-AT jungle gym from a lost and golden age
  • AT-AT raceday
  • Insanely detailed papercraft AT-ATs to download
  • At-At Walker Boombox
  • Homemade AT-AT loft bed
  • AT-AT anatomy tee

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

    Thanks! Teresa

What a great cake! I regret not letting our geek flag fly with our wedding cake design.

Geek weddings are great evidence that the virgin-living-in-moms-basement stereotype has to end.

I like Star Wars and all, but fondant is not cake. I’m really over the whole “look what I can make with cake!” bit when it turns out it’s 90% fondant. Hey, look what I can do with modeling clay! It’s just edible Fimo/Sculpey.

I watched “Ace of Cakes” for a while until every cake they made started with a wood and metal structure supporting a few inches of fondant, all atop a sheet cake. That may be awesome sculpture, but it ain’t cake decorating to me.

the bride responded at that page and said it wasn’t fondant: “no fondant – all frosting over dark chocolate cake with hazelnut ganache”

    Very creative!

since it’s laying on it’s side, they should have wrapped the legs with a chocolate tow line.

    Hmm,

LucasArts lost some licensing revenues there.
