I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

Turns out the name is a shortening of lobotomy, as the back story required Lando’s aide to be lobotomized so that the robotic implant could be placed. Yikes!

As a kid, my friends and I used to pretend that Lobot was secretly a Jedi. It inspired a lot of scenes like:
LUKE: Leia … hear me, Leia … hmm, that’s not working … Lobot, hear me Lobot. Lobot!!

LOBOT: I’ll be right there, sir!

We also made Medic Bot a main character. And, of course, when I say “we” and “my friends and I,” I mean “me.” Wuh-wah.
