I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

    Most certainly crochet, not knit.

This ‘Just Look at This Banana Thingy’ thing, is just so awesome, just so so awesome. I’m feeling it.

lunchadores. haha. and yes, that is definitely crochet, not knitting. but still cool.

  • Razzabeth

    Knock knock.
    Who’s there?
    Banana! Knock knock.

    Orange!
    Orange who?
Orange you glad I didn’t say banana?

  • Felton

When did the chiquitas become luchadores?

  • Anonymous

Ha, I read that as lunchadores at first

    • MrsBug

      That should be “lunchadorables”!

Also: Mexican Wrestling Bananas – BAND NAME!!

      Quick! Trademark it!

  • IronEdithKidd

    Hee, hee. I wrote lunchadores.

  • Devi

Those are awesome tiny crocheted luchador bananas.

The one in the pink mask is my favorite.

    • jackie31337

I was going to say that they look more like crochet than knitting, too. These bananas are the work of hookers. :P

      • IronEdithKidd

As a knitter of 28 years and a crocheter of 30 years (I’m old and my grandmas taught me when I was a young child), I can definitively state that banana part of the lunchadores are crocheted.

Is it still pedantry when you have decades of experience?

  • Deidzoeb

Crochet FTW! These crochet luchadores could totally beat any knit luchadores who dared challenge them.

  • MrJM

But you can only peel the bananas if you win the match by two falls, two submissions, or a knockout.

Otherwise you must shave your head.

    Sorry, kids… them’s the rules.

    • Devi

So the recent Punk/Mysterio match was actually close to a traditional lucha match and that angle was never mentioned. That would have made it a lot less random sounding and more interesting.

      • MrJM

But Vince hates any reminders that he’s in the rasslin’ business.
