'The Human Flesh Search Engine is a pretty odd phenomenon. It's mob "justice" for the now and future. Luis Tapia did a film on it, check him/it out atDaedalum Films.'

No, it's Anonymous with ideograms.

BTW, "human flesh search engine" is a form of Internet vigilantism where people online band together to hunt down people who they think deserve to be punished.

Something they didn't include that I think might be germaine to the discussion here:

One day I found my mother rolling on the floor laughing after reading a posting on a Chinese forum on some political issue or another. My mother is from Taiwan, and insists on being called "Taiwanese" rather than Chinese, because her family lived on the island before 1949. A mild side effect of this is that she speaks fluent Taiwanese, the local dialect.

I went ahead and read the posting in question, and was confused to see that the only name-calling or slang in question was someone throwing around the label "gypsy." It took me about 3 minutes to realize that the mandarin 吉普赛 (ji2 pu3 sai4) is a pun for the Taiwanese ji bu sai, which means, literally, "pile of sh*t."

I am Chinese and I have been living in Los Angeles for the past decade. The Chinese internets is basically incomprehensible even though I can read Chinese. ChinaSmack has helped me tremendously in that regard.
