Video link. Japanese media production agency goomo has created a series of super slow motion videos of key moments, like this close-up of a guy who gets slapped in the face. Ouch!

    This looked more painful.

Coming up next: a kick in the nuts.

    Poor intern.

Is that guy being slapped by ninjas? Boy, they just aren’t as fearsome as they used to be.

Look… slomo-slapping is awesome, indeed. But my favorite slow motion video is this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kag4tU6B3yc (slightly NSFW).

Somehow, making him appear unwilling seems to be a necessary part of the presentation.

    OW, MY FACE.

Mythbusters had a great video of this as part of their “sobering up” segment. I can’t view Youtube videos from this computer, but I think this is the correct clip: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CDQQtwIwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DHLRMF__9Nx0&ei=o4M8TIPIC8L38AbjrMWnBg&usg=AFQjCNG_zFU4aqtm5S2HCDBIVw8x8jR94A&sig2=qZsUlAAJIUfTirnRVE0ROg

The discovery channel had a show (maybe they still do) called “Time Warp.” A bunch of guys with a bunch of high-speed cameras and a bunch of crazy ideas: including a mouse trap to the tongue, hitting people with sticks, throwing things into a lawnmower, etc. Anything that happens fast so that they can slow it down and fill an hour.

Pretty brain dead show, if you ask me, but they did this sort of thing all the time.
