Paul Winter did this back in the late 70s – early 80s, jamming with wolves and hawks and such. See his album “Common Ground” (https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Common_Ground_%28Paul_Winter_album%29), released in 1978.

Making “jam” with animals? DONT KILL MORE ANIMALS!!! Peace for the new world.

I used to jam with our African Grey parrot back when I was in college. Every time I started playing guitar, Andrew would start “singing” along. He would make screeches and howls and whistles that were obviously meant to complement the music. Only someone programmed to believe that animals don’t have this ability could listen to the recordings and deny that he was singing along with what I was playing. His timing was great.

err. he may be a jazz clarinetist…but what’s pictured is him playing a soprano saxophone…

  • David Pescovitz
